VISIT | Archiving Black Palestinian Solidarity: Visions of Liberation 1968-2021 at MPP

The Center for Palestine Studies celebrates the opening of the exhibition Freedom is One: Palestinian-Black Kinship Then, Now and Tomorrow at The Museum of Palestinian People in Washington DC, USA.

Included in the exhibition is the short video, Archiving Black Palestinian Solidarity: Visions of Liberation 1968-2021, an updated version of a work-in-progres started in 2018 by students and faculty involved with CPS and advised by Lila Abu-Lughod and Nora Akawi. The video includes archival material on key moments of solidarity between Black American and Palestinian political movements from 1968 to the present and was edited by Rahaf Salahat, an intern at CPS in 2019. The original video was prepared for an event and panel discussion on "Black-Palestinian Solidarity 1968-2018" at Columbia University on October 18, 2018 sponsored by CPS, Studio X Amman at Columbia GSAPP and the Global Center | Amman.

About Freedom is One: Palestinian-Black Kinship Then, Now and Tomorrow:
