The Nakba Files

CPS and Adalah are pleased to announce the launch of The Nakba Files, a new website that will serve as an online space for researchers and practitioners to explore new approaches to law in Israel/Palestine.

The Nakba Files site went live on Nakba Day, May 15, which commemorates the dispossession of the Palestinian people through the establishment of the state of Israel.

Part notebook, part case file, part seminar, the Nakba Files will serve as a forum to explore the various dimensions of how the Nakba and the law come together, combining original research with occasional commentary on current legal developments in Israel/Palestine and forums for highlighting new scholarship.

Legal practitioners, human rights activists, academic researchers, and others will regularly contribute commentary to the site.

The new site is part of The Nakba & The Law Projectan ongoing collaboration between Adalah and CPS that began in 2013. The project treats the Nakba not only as an important historical event, but also as a theme to analyze ongoing colonial policies and practices in Israel/Palestine.
