Following in the footsteps of other Palestinian international film festivals in London, Boston, Madrid and Santiago, the purpose of the Buenos Aries Festival is to engage Latin American audiences with filmic depictions of Palestinian history and cultures.

In a gallery outside the Alumnae Lounge at Tufts University hung 26 photographs, including of youth standing around a fire blazing next to the Israeli separation wall at night; an elderly woman's portrait taken in a shard of mirror; girls on an amusement park ride in t-shirts emblazoned "Free Palestine;" a man lying in a hospital bed with a bloodied face, a bullet still bulging from his temple.

On June 20, 2015, the Center for Palestine Studies (CPS), Middle East Institute (MEI), and the Open University Project hosted 23 teachers for a workshop on Citizenship and Nationality in Israel/Palestine led by Columbia Law Professor Katherine Franke .
